Alongside a dedicated landscaping business, a growing education portfolio and an active commercial pipeline. Each sector has its own contractual norms, programme expectations and technical demands. Private Residential

Private residential is HXL's core work. Principal contractor on new builds, whole-house refurbishments, major extensions, loft conversions and basement excavations for homeowners. Schemes typically £500k to £3m+, delivered under JCT Standard or Design & Build, 10 to 24 month programmes.

Sector 02

Residential Developments & New-Build Flats

Multi-unit residential delivery. Blocks of flats, townhouse rebuilds, multi-plot schemes. Handed over resale-ready. Appointed by private developers and investor clients under JCT Design and Build. Recent delivery includes a six-flat new build in Pinner, with active coverage across the Pinner, Ruislip, Harrow and Watford corridor alongside the Home Counties. Schemes up to ~£5m+.

Heritage & Period Work

Heritage-sensitive construction across some of London's most tightly-regulated stock, Grade II listed Kensington and Chelsea townhouses, Hampstead conservation-area Victorian semis, Marlow Old Town Georgian homes. Coordinated with heritage consultants, Conservation Officers and specialist trades.

Sector 04

Landscaping

HXL's landscaping line delivers the full ground-works-to-finish scope. From structural retaining walls and drainage to paving, planting, lighting and irrigation. Delivered as part of a main contract for our residential and development clients, and tendered as a standalone package for local authorities and institutional clients. JCT Standard, NEC 3/4 or framework-compatible.

Sector 05

Education

HXL is actively delivering works for the education sector, with live engagement at Rickmansworth School and John Locke Academy. Our scope spans classroom refurbishment, estate upgrades, mechanical and electrical renewals, accessibility improvements and safeguarding-compliant external works. All delivery is DBS-screened, CDM 2015 compliant and scheduled around term-time and holiday windows.

Sector 06

Commercial

HXL delivers commercial construction for owner-occupiers, landlords, tenants and developer-clients. Scope spans ground-up commercial new build, full-shell refurbishment and reconfiguration, CAT A landlord-side fit-out, CAT B tenant-side fit-out, and end-of-lease reinstatement. Schemes are principal-contractor-managed under JCT Standard Building Contract or JCT Design & Build, with the same fixed-price, dated-programme discipline as our residential work. Hospitality, retail and small-to-mid workplace fit-out delivered to occupied-trading and out-of-hours sequencing where required.
